Because things can fall through and they are not cushioned. Also, I no longer wanted a revolving door in front of it. When I bought the baskets, there were no other inner drawers at Ikea yet.

Hello Nörgli,

lol.....with you everything has to be a special case.......
I'm already planning something else again.......... ops:

Regarding the wire baskets, did you see that they are only rated for 10kg?
The drawers can hold more.

What caught my eye even more, next to that I see bar stools....
can you even open the door - without a bar stool being in the way?
especially since you have to move 2 things for every small part - 1. open the door, 2. pull out the drawer.
and the same again to close it. I would find that impractical.
Or rather, for this reason, I decided against doors and inner drawers everywhere in my base cabinets.
I can more easily imagine taking a 40cm drawer at the bottom and another smaller inner drawer inside.

Bye Sabine

Somehow you have to pass the time.

If this cabinet were to come (this is still completely unclear), it would mainly contain food, canned goods and such. Regular drawers would not have sensible heights for that. But it is still something to consider, instead of the 60cm base cabinet with a door there, to take an 80cm base cabinet with drawers and store the food elsewhere instead. I still have a few months of planning time.

The bar stools are designed so that they can be pushed under the countertop. Then the door would open.

Right....... but you know, that way the plan keeps getting better.

I’m also playing around with all kinds of ideas. On the other hand, I’ve already gotten a lot of important tips about the Ikea kitchen. That saves me some surprises.

Haha and I’ve also thought about whether I shouldn’t put a movable kitchen island UNDER the countertop at the transition from Lange to the window side..... then I could also use the previously empty corner in the tall cabinet. I would take drawers........ also for things like, for example, canning stuff - which I only need very rarely. Or my juicer....... which is 99% just standing in the cabinet - but then the 1% is very, very practical. Or put the stuff for the kitchen machine in there too....... yeah, I’m thinking it over.

Bye Sabine
