In Australia, my father had a line from outside, where two large gas cylinders stood (Redundanz) into the kitchen. Gas is actually a bit better for cooking. But cleaning with an induction stove or generally a ceramic hob is much easier. Overall, I would probably still choose insuring, even if I had a gas connection.

Hi, the gas line would not have been approved for us either (due to external technical room with boundary construction). So I have an 11kg bottle with a gas sensor standing in the technical room, the line with gas socket was then laid from the sanitation to the kitchen during the shell construction. The 2nd bottle is there anyway for the grill (5kg) and could be switched over in an emergency if the gas runs out on the weekend and I absolutely have to cook (but I’d rather go out to eat then :p)

Those times are now over. Induction is just as popular, as it offers nearly identical cooking behavior with less maintenance.

And significantly less air pollution. I could never imagine cooking with anything other than a gas stove – but our induction stove is just as fast, only for the wok we haven’t found a good solution yet.

There are induction wok cooktops. It only makes sense, of course, if you use the wok frequently and have the space for installation.

There are also induction cooktops. They work well and get properly hot.
