So for our part, we have comfortably financed enough and actually want to be done in 10 years, when the kids slowly start moving towards studying. If it takes 3 years longer because we want to take more expensive vacations, that doesn't matter either.

The point was that my acquaintances are planning with a 3000 installment, the bank finds that okay, and I also think that is quite possible. And of course, it's always easier with well-off parents.

Our party cellar is considered unnecessary.
But we never go to pubs/discos/cinemas/restaurants or similar, because we prefer to meet our friends at home. That is simply more fun for us.

My wife is a full-time primary school teacher and teaches 4 subjects in grades 3 and 4. She is also the class teacher. She also sits for 1-1.5 hours in the evening, but the little one is already asleep then. With 50%, she would not be sufficiently occupied, she says herself.

There are, for example, nice newly built townhouses in Nymphenburg for that amount.
And it is actually financeable.
They have about 400k equity. The loan amount would be 900k. The bank offered them 1% for 15 years. That way it would be paid off in 30 years with a rate of 3000.
We also have a rate of 3000. I see no problem getting along well with the remaining 3000 and the salary won’t be less.
You still have the interest rate risk after 15 years, but by then you will earn more, the kids are old enough for full-time or you have inherited or something else...
Unemployment is also quite unlikely for them as a civil servant and as an IT specialist.
It's only over if one can no longer work due to illness.

1.3 million for a townhouse? People are really losing their minds slowly. Ok, if I had inherited almost a million, maybe I wouldn’t care and might consider it, but definitely not if I had to finance almost 1 million and only earned 6k net. Are there really still banks after the last crisis that finance such harakiri projects?
