Don't let the forum discourage you. It is mainly frequented by above-average earners here. A "normal" house is discussed much less often here than a better-equipped house.
I can tell because the standard terraced mid-terrace house is always discussed as a temporary/emergency solution, rarely as a full-fledged alternative. And neighbors are always "the devil" and best avoided.

I think 10k is already well calculated.

As someone who started 6 years ago (and still isn’t finished) to also do their outdoor facilities themselves with material at equity prices, I am definitely interested in the calculation on the basis of which 10k is "well calculated."

Maybe I created the thread with the wrong expectations. I thought maybe I would meet people in a similar situation to ours. And yes, I was actually hoping to read a few encouraging/positive comments or get some kind of confirmation. Which is not to say that the aspects against the project are not correct. We probably have to wait first to see what the discussions with the banks yield and then possibly take action. It remains exciting :)

That's exactly the point. What are the banks even offering you, and where can you save on the project if that is exactly your dream? And how big are the risks if, for example, one of you loses their job in a not entirely unlikely recession?
