Is building in Bavaria still possible for 500k?

I feel the same way. With that land price, there should actually be a really nice villa on it to make it proportional. As it is, the house costs less than the land :/ 500k should basically be doable, but definitely without a basement, without a garage, and somewhat smaller. Landscaping work done by yourself and maybe then the concrete paving for 40€ instead of the expensive natural stone. I personally also don’t find anything wrong with plastic windows.

You have exactly two options. It’s a digital event.

a) Get off your high horse thinking you can build a palace with the finest materials for little money

or

b) Pay the reasonable price for your palace with noble windows and a ballroom as a living room and don’t complain about the prices then asked

No offense meant, but this is what reality looks like right now.

Phew... what a land price. As a North German, you can hardly believe it.

I can basically only agree with my predecessors. I find the ratio of land costs to the total budget unfavorable. I would also be frustrated if there is not enough left for the house to be able to fulfill your wishes to some extent. Are there no somewhat cheaper plots of land in the area?

That’s exactly it. Over the years, one had imagined something different for the total amount. It turns out that was naive.

Unfortunately, the plots here tend to be rather more expensive, in the near-city area at €1200-1400/sqm. There are extremely rarely plots for sale and if there are, they are often "old" plots with 800sqm+. Smaller plots in the 450sqm range are almost never available. Basically, the offered plot is still "cheap".

Everyone defines "villa" differently; in my eyes, a villa has 200+ sqm, a basement, a double garage, etc. and so on.

What we had hoped for was a 150-160 sqm rectangular box with wood-aluminum windows in standard sizes, a carport, and no basement. However, it has already become clear that this is unrealistic (even though the "insistence" of some here in this forum surprises me somewhat). In my world, others are also "on a high horse," but the discussion does not contribute to this.

Thanks for the many responses, it’s nice that such active forums still exist.

Have built, sorry that was not quite clear.

On the subject of wood-aluminum, I once heard "for that money you can also get a wooden window and have the painter come every time." Otherwise, it is also a (un)thankful DIY task as a homeowner ;)
