I find this city vs. countryside discussion quite interesting – but it hasn’t led to anything for decades. It’s simply individual, end of story. Back to the topic, – what does your plan look like now? Divide the plot and build a semi-detached house or stick with 140 sqm, down-to-earth?

Things got pretty intense here, sorry for the late response. The plot is purchased, it will be a small house with many compromises. The issue of children was decisive (they exist, are basically always on the move, and the bus connections over 20 km in the surrounding area are either non-existent or so infrequent that they are only usable to a limited extent).

If there is interest, I am happy to report on building within budget ;-).

In the end, not really an option. My job has unpleasant working hours, and if I then have to drive 40 minutes, it restricts me too much. Better to build smaller or maybe find more budget after all.
