But that's always the case with compromises. In my opinion, a compromise on the location has even more noticeable consequences than PVC windows or a smaller kitchen than you would have liked. The location directly affects the daily routine and expense structure. The art with a tight budget is not (only) to avoid the one-time high costs but to manage everyday life within the budget. And a good location helps a lot with that. I would also build a small house on an expensive plot.
