Is building in Bavaria still possible for 500k?

We are also professionally active in IN. Your problem is that you have to spend 500k plus for the plot of land. I can name 3-4 couples in my circle of friends who have already gotten that from their parents. Calculate with at least (!) 3,500 euros per square meter - that means 140 sqm. Everything else is unrealistic. Believe me. And the 3,500 you can actually forget about in IN - everything is fully booked.

In my opinion, that's absolutely crazy too. You just have to do the math. How many additional kilometers can you commute for a poorly paid job on top of that. If the land is more expensive than the house, then the proportions are no longer right and you should become suspicious. You also don't drive a beaten-up camper to the luxury pitch. But the 4-axle camper can certainly park anywhere...

I don't understand people who voluntarily want to commute long distances. That is simply wasted life time. I would even rather work an hour longer than commute an hour. Even that is more quality of life for me. If you already have a house and end up commuting because of a (necessary) job change... fine by me. But voluntarily without necessity? Never. Therefore, I cannot understand this nonsense about the ratio of land to house. Town & Country placed with the Dacia on a 500k plot? But sure!

Commuting is just one aspect. The location is also different. We have to/had to commute too, but in return we live here in a rural area with lots of open space around us. I wouldn't give that up for any city location. I'd rather accept commuting. Although in bigger cities you also have to travel for a while to work even if you live in the city. Who really lives that close to their workplace?

Lower demands or increase the budget.

If you start upgrading things selectively, you get the following:

Formula One race car with Fiat tires, F1 engine and VW body.

Either you build properly or not at all.

My opinion and sorry to the Fiat drivers among us :)

I had hoped for a "grey area" and that the seller would use his experience and negotiating skills with the house construction company to possibly still make it possible. Especially since the construction site is included in the price offer and is thus binding. Whether the finishing trades are "in the end" more expensive for the house manufacturer no longer needs to concern the thread starter, as long as he is disciplined during the selection process. But as mentioned, it was just an idea that I myself do not know if it will work.

@all: I belong to the people who would put a normal house on an expensive plot in the desired, perfect location. Then I would design the outdoor area in such a way that the house recedes behind it if that is important to me and make the hedges tall enough so that the neighbors are not bothered by the view. Likewise, I would put a Dacia in the underground garage of the P1. It may well be something to "cringe" about, but so what? Does that matter or will you go to hell for it (well, maybe to the architect taste hell, but many house builders who spend enormous amounts on their houses roast there too ;-) ).
