I have now installed the Siemens dishwasher SX778D01TE in my Metod kitchen.
I mounted an 80cm front (undivided) on the dishwasher door, so I cannot report any experience with a divided front.
However, there were still some problems:
1.) I mounted a handle on the top of the front. As mentioned elsewhere, you actually have to countersink the heads of the handle screws inside; otherwise, they will hit the upper edge of the control front when closing the dishwasher door. Since the handle screws are not countersunk, I therefore enlarged the handle hole slightly inside with a larger drill bit.
2.) The installation instructions of the dishwasher state at the end that you can adjust the weight of the front, and thus the ease of the door, with 2 screws at the bottom. However, if the 80cm front is installed, you no longer have access to these screws as they are somewhere behind the front. Since the door of my device opens well and also stays in any position, I did not pursue the problem of screw access any further.
3.) As part of the dishwasher installation instructions, you have to stick a kind of rubber mat to the bottom of the dishwasher, which hangs down and is supposed to simply slide behind the plinth when closing the dishwasher door. In my case, this mat keeps coming loose and then hangs down visibly in front of the plinth. The reason is that with the dishwasher door completely open, the mat is pulled too far out behind the plinth because it is actually too short for an 8cm plinth.
I do not yet know how to solve this problem. Either the mat would have to be glued a little lower (I do not even know if I can remove the mat again) or something would have to be attached to the plinth to make it a little higher.
Has anyone else faced this problem and how did you solve it?
