I am bothered by the word building sin. So, asbestos roofs are building sins. Or design monstrosities like Berlin Marzahn. Or poor concrete in bridges, and so on. But something that is fashionable today and won’t be in 2040 is not yet a sin, but rather reflects the spirit of the times. Take the small kitchen with a pass-through to the dining room, typical of 1970, also typical because this period tried to imitate the great bourgeoisie of the 19th century, sitting in the kitchen was no longer necessary, there’s a gong and you go to the table, in the dining room, walnut... spirit of the times, but not a building sin, and some people who buy such a house keep this concept because it actually works, even though today an open-plan room, i.e., a proletarian eat-in kitchen, is modern again, with GZSZ bar stools from Roller.
