I am bothered by the word building sin. So, asbestos roofs are building sins. Or design monstrosities like Berlin Marzahn. Or poor concrete in bridges, and so on. But something that is fashionable today and won’t be in 2040 is not yet a sin, but rather reflects the spirit of the times. Take the small kitchen with a pass-through to the dining room, typical of 1970, also typical because this period tried to imitate the great bourgeoisie of the 19th century, sitting in the kitchen was no longer necessary, there’s a gong and you go to the table, in the dining room, walnut... spirit of the times, but not a building sin, and some people who buy such a house keep this concept because it actually works, even though today an open-plan room, i.e., a proletarian eat-in kitchen, is modern again, with GZSZ bar stools from Roller. The living rooms are not only oriented towards the television, but in case of a disruption in the TV network also towards the TV studio kitchen. It’s actually not really there for use, but as backup decoration for this disruption - so that apart from the then missing Tim Mälzer, the usual background image is maintained.
I have already written about controlled residential ventilation here:

In the East, at least those are prefabricated slab buildings where you can remove floors – with the residential silos in the West, this is typically not possible.

We and the other tenants of the apartment building first occupied in 1972 opted against the serving hatch back then because it dictated the living room furnishing and would have cost storage space there.

I have recognized the contradiction too, don’t worry. It was just money that was given as a gift years ago. I saved it and didn’t spend it on expensive pants, etc. I think that’s a kind of earned because saved. Anyway, I didn’t have mommy and daddy pay. I just wanted to clarify that ☺️

I'd say theory and practice.
Apart from that, the claim that you can still do something with the ISDN wiring by just swapping the junction box.

In practice, I rarely see just four-wire cables, but at least 4DA or two star fours in the cable; with the former, the a-wires except the first are carelessly discarded because the layman (non-electrician) probably thinks that non-colored wires are not important, just reserve, or something like that. Then often indeed only the socket swap is needed – at least in practice. I also know the theory that modern LAN only runs over at least Cat.6+ – but I have often seen it exposed as just theory. So the popular shock of apparently considering a house ready for demolition just by looking at an ISDN socket is exaggerated. I see it quite chill until (rare) counterevidence.

The problem with ISDN is simply the different topology compared to network cabling.
