Presumably you moved out of your parents’ home quite early or you are city kids? In the countryside (i.e. anywhere with <= 4 bus lines per day), one has a car at 18 and that obviously needs a parking space.

The mobility requirements from 10 years ago were somewhat different than today. And will also be different in the future. And you have to distinguish whether you live in the city or outside. Our street in the city is full of cars. No snowplow can get through anymore. I'm glad when I move into my new building with a double garage.

yep, my parents were glad when we were finally allowed to drive a car... In the city, of course, you don't need a car as a child.

We already live in the same world, I also never got anything for free. Shelving like I did at 16 at EDEKA for 6DM/hour they probably won’t experience anymore.

If I had to pay for it, there would at most be a driver’s license from me. But the grandparents take care of all that nicely and have been filling the savings accounts since birth.

More likely the future of your children, if everything doesn’t go to the dogs beforehand

Nana, not everyone here was born with a silver spoon in their mouth
At 15 I delivered newspapers and at 16 shelved shelves at Praktiker. At 17 I started an apprenticeship almost 400km away from home. But even then a car was mandatory at 18. Self-financed from saved confirmation money, etc. I think many over 30s here have a similar experience.
