First of all, thanks to everyone who has contributed constructively. It helps me a lot to slowly work my way into the subject and better assess what the construction professionals are offering me. I have to say that unfortunately, I often had the impression while reading here that things quickly turn negative and no longer focus on the actual topic. But okay, you have to take it or leave it. Personally, I have decided to take the positive and ignore the negative, less constructive aspects. Of course, this doesn't always succeed; I'm only human, especially when parts are taken out of context or statements are misrepresented. An example? I think I haven't complained here :) at least not by my standards ;) The garage is not built of bricks but a "cheap" prefab garage, and I had also asked here how to classify something like that price-wise... and yes... when I add everything up with reserves, garden, and all that goes with it, it would come to 1.2 million for us, but only through my amateur estimate AND I also wrote in the mentioned thread that we are cutting wishes and items that we can do without because that is a lot of money for me. The house itself is supposed to cost around 650K€ according to the developer, including the basement and white bathtub, etc. The plot (near Mainz for everyone who is wildly speculating here) 260K€, with a bit of bad luck even more... the only thing we could get here in 5 years. Size: 560 sqm... no "choice" possible here either... further additional costs (earthworks, surveyor, soil report, and such stuff) according to the developer probably around 100K€. I can hardly estimate all of this, but that's why I'm here to understand. And I'm super grateful for all input that helps. Now the whining: interest rates are rising, building material is increasing (partly no longer available), stock portfolio crashed, everything significantly more expensive than just a few months ago. Have a nice evening.

I read project costs of 1.2 million and then put a prefabricated garage there? That can hardly be serious, right?! You probably wouldn't take Hornbach tiles for 25€ but natural stone for 150€/m2 from Italy. Or am I somehow wrong here? In the end the ratio has to be right.

probably misread that. There is an increased feed-in tariff only for full feed-in operators. For us normal people, it remains at 6,something cents.

Does that bother you aesthetically somehow? The thing with the prefabricated garage? According to the manufacturer it should cost 25K€ and then the foundation... something between 5-10,000 euros. I already find that quite expensive. But as I have learned here, that is total luxury anyway, and as I already wrote, it is not even clear if it will come at all. Just read again what I wrote and don't just write 1.2 million project again. And no... there is nothing planned with natural stone or anything like that. Whoever thinks it will be a palace is wrong. There is no frills in it. Tiles (porcelain stoneware) is the motto when it comes to flooring. I don't even know why I'm justifying myself again now. I think I'm out of this thread for now ;)

Whoever plans a seven-figure construction project probably also has a minimum level of expectation for the quality of the equipment, right?
Who buys an S-Class will also not find a manual transmission anymore.
What matters is the relation.
If the house costs 250k, I understand saving on materials and using, for example, cheap tiles, Vigour fittings, etc.
If I’m moving in the luxury segment, I wouldn’t save those few bucks on natural stone, built-in fittings, etc., or am I wrong here?
