In the village, the tractor with front loader comes :p

But you are right with the arguments

I am sure the BG Bau will be happy when forklift driver Klause replaces the scaffolding ;)

It's not just the installation, you can also do other things better when a photovoltaic system is firmly planned. Snow tends to slide off the modules, which means you have to do something for the snow guard. For that, you don't need to install snow stoppers directly under the modules because practically no snow accumulates there.

But why actually? I mean, if the house roof would "unload" onto the public sidewalk – okay. But wouldn’t I rather have the snow on the lawn than on the roof that could eventually collapse?

So I would like to be able to go to the compost without a load of snow falling on my neck from over 6 meters high. Even with a small child who might be playing in the garden, I would prefer if the snow didn’t just suddenly slide off.

A properly constructed roof should not collapse because of snow. In mountainous regions, 1 meter of snow on the roof at higher altitudes is completely normal. For us, despite 666m elevation, we only have snow load zone 1 with 1.2kN/sqm. That should be enough for a good half meter of wet snow, and structural engineers surely factor in a proper safety margin as well.

For photovoltaics, there is, as far as I know, only the admittedly favorable KfW loan. And the feed-in tariff will be 13.5 cents per kWh in the future. I would rather take that than sinking 18 into [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung]. If I am not too mistaken, it pays for itself in 10 years and then makes a profit.

We hardly get any snow here... well, almost none. That doesn't worry me. You are basically right about photovoltaic systems and their easier installation. But then without KFW, right? Because the reduced funding just doesn't add up when you factor in energy consultant costs and thicker bricks, etc. I'll think about the photovoltaic system again. Let's see if it's financially feasible somehow. I'll also open a general question thread about building a house. I really have tons of questions. For example, is €10,000 for a foundation for a double garage normal? I'm a total layperson but that seems like a lot, doesn't it?
