and at the latest with sloping roofs from the 1st floor upwards, small normal windows are no good anyway, more light needs to come in, so floor-to-ceiling - unless you want roof windows like we definitely don’t. If you have children who still play/build a lot on the floor, it is of course also more pleasant to have light directly down below than just above from the window...

Several potential terrace doors do make sense so that with a different furniture arrangement, a different one can be the "active" terrace door. Why shouldn't anything be placed in front of the currently unused terrace doors in the meantime?

That more people drive to work with Golfs than with Lamborghinis is not surprising. It can happen that the bank says, we won't finance a Neuschwanstein for a patient with statutory health insurance. A certain delta between dream and construction is then inevitable. The Flair is the Dacia Logan among houses: it is affordable, and children, weekly groceries, and dog fit in. For that, just without rally stripes.

No, the fundamentally sold house I’ll make a new post...

Honestly: the space under the sloping roof looks totally gloomy with an 80 or 100 cm floor window if at the gable side 2 meters must be without a window. Have often observed that.
There is also the normal double casement window with 160 or 200 cm width, which illuminates not only the ceiling but also the room in width.

In the kitchen/dining/living area we have a total of 2 terrace doors each one meter wide and two terrace doors each 2 meters wide distributed on the east, south, and west sides. We want to be able to go outside everywhere, and we do. There is nothing in front of them except an armchair at some distance, but planned. However, I am also a fan of a sofa in front of a panoramic window if there is a good meter of space between. That is the effect, integrating the garden into the house.

Upstairs there are balustrades everywhere.

Previously, in the old house, we had terrace doors everywhere on the upper floor, and there was nothing cozy about it.

I have never had a garden on the upper floor.

I never understand this part of the discussion... even if you don't know the studies, you just have to stand in the different rooms... with floor-to-ceiling windows, the lighting is noticeably nicer and more pleasant, the other extreme is these light strips, … it directly feels like a basement.

That you shouldn't build floor-to-ceiling windows in a bathroom adjacent to a neighbor's house... most seem to agree on that. But in living rooms, even with blinds at the bottom, almost every room looks nicer, bigger, brighter, …

--> better to have one floor-to-ceiling window too many than too few; this discussion about floor-to-ceiling or not I somehow only know from this forum, I actually don't know anyone around me who wouldn't want as many floor-to-ceiling windows as possible
