I also like the approaches. And I agree, however, with those who are fans of a guest toilet. I also like the idea of a shed roof. Because a hip roof and solar might be a bit tight - or do you already have a plan for that later?

I googled a few floor plans again because I also wanted to separate the utility room from the sleeping area.

Could fit ... at least a mini canopy. You could also swap the bathroom and the house technology/pantry ... then the access wouldn’t have to go past the front door. Also add a window on the right side in the dining area.

Also to consider .. why not access possibly from the top of the plan, so approximately east:

The kitchen could also get a window on the right side.

And already somewhat adjusted

Why? A door from the carport to the utility room costs storage space/wall space in the utility room and why do you have a house entrance? ;)

: If the planning is already this far advanced - consider a monopitch or asymmetrical gable roof for more south-facing roof area (photovoltaics) and a loft for guests instead of a guest room. A hipped roof is probably more expensive. I like your project and wish you a great general contractor and good craftsmen for the implementation.

I fully agree with that.

Stereotype destroyed . It could have been a man who later is joined by another man or whatever – by now that hopefully shouldn’t be exciting anymore.

Because it contributes to quality of life when you can have preferred routes to walk. I often wonder why some houses have only one front door.

Off Topic:

You... as a single woman with a house you have to kiss a lot of frogs - men are reluctant to go into a nest that isn't theirs. Simply put: old burdens are only good if the woman then gets to play the role of friend to the children from the ex-relationship, otherwise many men do have "dislikes" against the old burden house
That doesn't have to apply to everyone (here in the forum), but I could write a book about it...

On the topic:

That’s what happens when you don’t fill out the profile ;)

Are you even allowed to build "only" single-story?

There is still quite a bit of interior finishing to come

For one person, that’s really oversized.

There won’t even be heating installed there... but it’s still warm. So not warm, but not cold either. But that will affect every room in the house.

Phew, a shed roof is more expensive... with a gallery and internal insulation (roof) it’s a huge deal that you have to think about... and here the house adapts to the budget.
You really have to see what is important.
Personally, I’d also rather forgo wallpaper and a painter and create some more space upwards. But everyone has their priorities, whether the house then becomes rather modest, bigger, or has better interior finishes.
However, even the hallway would already be too much, here I rely on the Danish version and prefer it more open – for bedroom and bathroom a sqm of hallway from the common room is enough.

You don’t have to.
But first the explanation: The suggestion from me with the swap is because of the now illogical zoning. The bathroom belongs in the private area (even if guests sometimes use the bathroom), so to the bedroom. Just like means with the private bathroom – so it’s not visible to visitors, no guest WC is needed, but the short way to the bedroom.
Then the "storage"/work zone: utility room and kitchen: short paths to stored food, rubber boots at the cloakroom or shoes in the utility room... entrance... somehow it all belongs together.
Right now you are planning your hallway as a dirty area: from the carport into the utility room, then the hallway to the cloakroom and kitchen. In the evening you’ll have beach feeling under your socks.
I would position the house completely differently, then you could have both.
I’m attaching a sketch:

Of course, one can also reduce the hallway by swapping the utility room/hallway in the simplicity of the floor plan now...

So I think I can do without the guest toilet without feeling guilty. I thought about it and when I visit friends or relatives, I also use the main bathroom. Or rather, in apartments it's almost always like that anyway.

The door from the utility room to the later carport is extremely important to me, this way I can bring groceries in dry and when I work in the garden, cut wood, or similar, I can go inside without having to go through the hallway. Regarding dirt, tools, and such.

According to my general contractor, the hip roof is even the cheapest option since it can be built as a truss roof.
