Hey Milkie, thanks for the info. We had another conversation with the architect today. A skylight in the guest WC definitely won’t work because of the garage. He’s now drawing us a version with the guest WC in the front and the wardrobe in the back. Then we’ll decide which we like better. Yes, it all got quite big ops:. Originally we wanted around 200m2, but we had forgotten about the hallway and stairs. But now all the rooms are as we wanted them (in size and also in location/orientation). We had a long wish list and with a rather difficult plot. And it was clear that we’d have to make compromises. And as it looks now, we have implemented all important wishes and only two things remain, which we’ll probably have to live with (the path between bathroom and dressing room and guest WC without window or dark wardrobe). The bedroom will be arranged differently so that the door is placed opposite the utility room. Then we have a short way between bathroom and bedroom. The ten meters from the bathroom across the hallway to the dressing room we will probably only walk twice a day anyway, so we can live with that. And when the kids are older and have overnight guests, we’ll just put on a bathrobe and won’t walk around naked between bathroom and dressing room. Or maybe we’ll add a second door to the bedroom. We’ll see. The large bathroom will be a family bathroom, which is why it has access from the hallway and not through the bedroom. It will probably be a while before the kids shower alone.

We too. But it's okay, we don't have to worry about it.

Do the children only have north-facing windows? That would not be very nice. After all, the children spend more time during the day in their rooms than the parents.

A guest toilet with a window right next to the front door was a no-go for us.

There are now even 30 sqm of kitchen .. with a two-line kitchen and a tall cabinet block outside the normal kitchen movement area. Unfortunately I say, because a 30 sqm room is then divided into individual sections again and the kitchen area somehow ends up in the darker part of the room.

The guest room has at least become somewhat smaller compared to the original plan.

Upper floor with master suite .. but the children only have windows facing east, which I still find unfortunate. And that’s because the parents’ bathtub absolutely has to face the garden. Sorry, I really lack some understanding for that. Children come home from school and no longer have a sunbeam in their room. Admittedly, though, really very spacious rooms.

In total, there are about 140 sqm of pure living space per floor ... really pure living space, the floor area is considerably larger. But I don’t really see any real added value.

And, the entire south side of the house has no windows.

That would not be my house.

Bathing in daylight so you can possibly look into the garden: I bet the blinds and/or the eyes are closed while bathing. Why would you look into the garden while bathing? Maybe the first 2-3 times... As already mentioned: it gets dark at 5 in winter... Or does it get dark during the day...? Well, whatever, everyone has their own incomprehensible priorities... The main thing is that the kitchen outlined by Panama has its place, you can live with a dark wardrobe then. After all, we have electric light! That would be secondary for me. Still, I don’t find the whole upper floor coherent and regarding the south side and the lack of windows, I agree with kbt
