How come, for example, the width of the house is exactly Eight meters Nine, do the unusual dimensions have a connection to a specific template?
I also wonder about the exactly 29.5 cm (according to the drawing probably double-shell) exterior wall. Is the storage room 3 up there intentional (why, with the huge garage) or just a leftover space?
Overall, I don’t really understand what is intentional and what just somehow happened.
It is a prefabricated house in timber frame construction. The dimensions are based on the grid division. So if I want to make the house bigger, it is enlarged in grids (about ~67cm per grid?!). Why it ends up exactly at 8.09 m here I cannot answer directly; it is either due to an architect’s program or because everything was drawn somewhat inaccurately.
The arrangement of the rooms is intentional, but the exact size of the rooms has not yet been specified. I find the kitchen, pantry, and living room too small. The guest WC is too large.
The storage room 3 upstairs will, as mentioned, possibly be converted into a dressing room for the adjacent bedroom in the west (in the picture above). I don’t find a storage room so bad, especially for vacuum cleaners, toys, or similar things that otherwise just lie around.
I will furnish the house this evening and definitely swap the utility room with the guest WC. Then I can create a wardrobe right by the entrance area. In my opinion, the guest WC is too large since we won’t need a shower downstairs.
I definitely still have a problem with the pantry. The space is really more than unfortunate in this location.
