Why should there even be a door to the hallway? That would just destroy the storage area you gain by moving the kitchen wall.

Even with a door, the wardrobe already has significantly more space than before (previously 113cm in the niche, afterwards something around ~180cm, depending on the exact planning possibly more). So it still helps the hallway. My husband says "it's simply comfortable" and he likes the idea of being able to enter the kitchen from the hallway (for groceries, but also just when coming down the stairs). And he thinks it feels less confined in the kitchen than a U-shape or less corridor-like than a double-line layout.

Honestly, I am relatively neutral about it. The straight wall in the hallway helps, in my opinion, regardless of whether there is a door or not. If I chose a door, I would prefer a sliding door, but we’ll see.

What is this supposed to represent: an open passage from the kitchen to the entrance area, which would however be blocked by the open dishwasher door?

If he is also the main cleaner ... *duck and run*

Oops, I copied the draft without the door drawn in. But I think you can manage that with a bit of imagination ;) That the dishwasher blocks something cannot be completely avoided in a narrow kitchen, but this way, when it is open, all the other cabinets are accessible and can be loaded.

Here is another approach:

By the way: the staircase in my case is only 3.50 meters long. So a spiral to the upper floor actually makes sense.. it shouldn't really be more expensive.

Regarding narrow kitchens... We currently live in a very narrow half-timbered house, my kitchen's room dimensions are about 4.50 x 2.30. On the west side, we have a kitchen row along the entire 4.50 with a countertop integrated into the windowsill (approx. 0.65 - 0.85 deep), then a 1.00 passage width (= enough so that the extendable drawers from Ikea just don’t hit each other including handles when both are open at the same time three times a year), and then almost 3.00 meters of tall cabinets/countertop depth 0.65/refrigerator. I really enjoy working like this, short distances, I don’t feel cramped because of the deep countertop facing the window (well planned lighting helps a lot) and would also plan at least part of 2.00m length to be "narrow" again. It might sound tight, but in everyday life it’s been working great for 3 years. Without an L, you don’t have the dead space in the corner (we have two rows west/east and north the radiator, with a stool in front when the back aches)... I don’t have your room dimensions in mind right now, but "narrow" planned well can work very well :)
