The staircase to the attic, which is 99% just storage space anyway, should either be a retractable staircase or a space-saving staircase.

I see absolutely no added value or positive change overall.

I already see about 50k in savings, as the GF on the ground floor is reduced from 130 m2 (your suggestion) to 112.5 m2.

The stairs to the attic should also bring considerable cost reductions.

Moving the entrance slightly inward relaxes the entrance under the 3 m carport.

As far as I know, I have never mentioned 60° anywhere; at the beginning, I once said >45°, but I was assuming 8.5m width. Since there is no longer a basement, that is not feasible, and a wider house with a steeper roof simply has too much roof at some point – the current 45° looks quite consistent, and the attic is clearly high enough in the middle. The attic will definitely be converted (floor and walls) and insulated. The current attic is practically an equilateral triangle with 2.2m edge length and 60°, which is just enough for a very cozy bed and currently also for a small workspace. Presumably, that is also the reason for the good feeling about an attic; maybe one can find a middle ground between a "proper" staircase as currently planned and a space-saving staircase, which definitely should not be the case.

Here is a version without a bay window. However, the bedroom in the granny flat can also be used with a wider bed.
