Brilliantly phrased! I see exactly the same problems and the list can be extended even further...

Lunch break

I’ll try not to forget anything.
So, there is no site plan yet. The formation of the parcels is taking some time, and we are trying to complete everything possible until then.
The property is basically only limited by a width of about 22 m.
On 2 sides, it borders a street/path. This path is only used to access other properties. Basically, a cyclist passes by every 2 days. On the other 2 sides, there is farmland.
A carport and a double office container as a workshop or storage space are planned behind the house. For this reason, there are also considerations to move the entrance from the “front” to the right side so that you don’t have to walk around the entire house from the carport. However, the open concept should be maintained as much as possible.
I’ll attach a sketch of the property to the first post.

At first, the idea with the stairs already makes sense, but I don’t know if in my case it justifies the sacrifices since I am creating storage space outside the house anyway.

What made me think even more was the discussion about the room layout regarding the children’s room. I would still like to stick to the layout without a hallway. I also don’t mind at all that visitors hear me going to the toilet. However, I am now uncertain about the child’s room, especially concerning the noise level. There is the idea of swapping the utility room with the children’s room. But it wouldn’t necessarily be quieter there either. We definitely need to think more about this.

We have also already realized that the dressing room might be a bit tight in the bedroom. However, removal was not approved at first. Here, the idea is to position the additional wall crosswise and not lengthwise and then place the bed against this wall with a view outside (as said, it is very quiet here) and on the other side towards the entrance a wardrobe.

We are definitely open to suggestions. That’s why there is this thread here.

Kind regards

Edit: Apparently, I can’t edit the first post, so here is the sketch

What kind of funny arrangement is that with the carport? Is south at the bottom? The property could accommodate an L-shaped house, carport access where the front door is located.

I don't believe you that you don't take my little list seriously.

Since size adjustment plays a role again there as well as the sensible location of rooms, resulting in a completely different floor plan, I see no reason to stick to this now.

Please also take the time to calmly read through all the posts again. and I are happy to offer good help with bungalows, of course as well, although she is a specialist in city villas

Directly below is the south side. The access from the current floor plan would be the north side. The carport can theoretically only be placed behind the house if you don't want to move the house too far. Therefore, the location for the carport there seemed the most logical to me, since I can drive directly from the path (little paving) and then walk to the house. Of course, I take your list seriously, but not every point carries the same weight for me. I think I could live well with this floor plan in my daily life, but here I can only speak for myself. Therefore, the points regarding the child take priority for now. I will read all contributions again and discuss them with my girlfriend. Regards

Hello, also lunch break here
Thank you very much for all the suggestions. Maybe for better understanding it should be said again:
1. Topic Expansion
The bungalow should remain a bungalow and the roof should be kept as flat as possible. A staircase is out of the question.

2. Topic Storage
Since we actually prefer minimalism and collect fewer dust catchers. The more space, the more unnecessary things are accumulated. I manage well with 3 Christmas boxes and 1 Easter box, which find great space under the roof without any further expansion.

3. Topic Dressing Room
Definitely a must, because minimalism ends somewhere for us women. The dressing room will be located in front of the sleeping area.

4. Topic Office and Guest WC
I am self-employed on the side. That means it is not an ironing room (as mentioned somewhere), but an office – and is used as such and not just called that! The guest toilet and office are in the entrance area since it makes customer visits much easier and the arrangement somewhat protects my privacy.

4. Topic Privacy
Anyone who works from home always shares a piece of the private. Chosen consciously this way, since private life is also part of the income – Instagram and co.

5. Topic Bathroom
Size is consciously celebrated! 2 sinks as well. That I bathe and fall naked out of the room to find myself naked in the kitchen – that can only be good for the relationship. However, if I no longer find my husband attractive (as mentioned here), then I certainly would not live with him anymore. That would not be our idea of a relationship.
Leo has known mom and dad naked and openly since birth, but both sides will be aware that with an open room design, the woman, the man, and also the child do not tumble naked out of the bathroom. However, boxer shorts will not embarrass him in front of his uncle at age 9. Maybe at 4. But to design a house closed off (because of one age)?? I don’t think that makes sense.
Regarding the stomach flu – if someone in the family is sick, I don’t fill the place up and give them the virus. The argument is not well thought out.

6. Topic Tupperware
Terrible

7. Topic Help
The wardrobe is not harmonious. I would like a hidden one.
I would prefer Leo’s room closer to the entrance, but that does not really fit well with the office.

Thank you for further suggestions and considerations.

Well, there are just different life concepts and everyone likes it their way. I wouldn’t overdramatize the thing with the bathroom either, I just threw it out there like that. I also think that Leo’s privacy is even more important than mom being naked at the kitchen table. Above all, the fact that Leo now also has to overhear his naked, open parents wall to wall in bed would be a bit too much for me.
That’s why I still see some lively musical chairs happening with the rooms. Surely something can be arranged.

However, that is pretty harsh...
