Hm....of course I want to help you with this, but also not tell you any nonsense. We had the exact same, of course also nocturnal, considerations here as well. Got boards, compared, read, felt, etc. My wish was "oiled" because that sounded more natural in terms of the basic feel and lacquer rather shiny and cheap-looking. The decision then came down to availability for us, because there was only one matt lacquered floor in the large amount we needed. So again....look at boards, feel, tap, think......read and in the end called Meister directly twice. They probably would have stopped answering the phone eventually......at some point. I believe that in the end we were also influenced by the statement of a lady from Meister, who told me why she has exactly this parquet in her own apartment. First, this "matt lacquered" is not the same as the usual lacquered, but something similar to UV-oiled.....sorry, I lack the technically exact description. You don’t have to regularly re-oil this floor or clear everything out, which sounded less pleasant due to the size of the rooms and my age / chronic sluggishness. Also, this "matt" rather looks a bit rough, so not smooth/shiny as feared. Now, if I look at the picture of your PD450 on the website I would say that is our floor here. If you lived in Saxony I would have said, just come by briefly. As for durability, I have to pass, because I think every wooden floor visually forgives dents more than a stain on a carpet or a chipped tile. I would have zero problems choosing this floor with small children as well, because eventually every floor (including that of mom and dad) would have some dents. We are talking about an extremely thin film of lacquer or oil here, a falling knife doesn’t care about that. The plastic-like thing mentioned above this matt lacquered does not have, which is why you have to be careful to really compare apples to apples. I wouldn’t want the "normal" lacquered either. So I was initially against it, was overruled by availability and am now very satisfied with it and it was even installed as a floating floor, so basically did everything wrong and yet am satisfied. If I can help you somehow, feel free to contact me directly, we can also have a call if it would help....video etc. Fundamentally, neither is right or wrong, which is why I don’t see a snap decision.
