Is it possible to install parquet flooring by gluing it yourself? Or is it better to have a professional do it?

Just look at the price. Of the 1500€, maybe 200€ go towards materials (adhesive etc.), leaving wages for 3 days, one person. If you subtract the profit for the contractor, it leaves 2.5 days of work for the specialist, maybe only 2.

We have the same problem: Because of underfloor heating, we would prefer to have the parquet glued down.
We went to two parquet retailers who offer everything together (including installation).

Both came up with similar offers: about 100 EUR/sqm (for ash parquet, one of them "Haro Country"), which already makes a difference at 60sqm.
If I were to install the parquet myself, I might pay only 70 EUR for the material and could save around 1800 EUR (30 EUR/sqm * 60sqm).

However, one retailer said about "gluing it yourself": Better not. You should have done it at least once before. Otherwise, you might glue a strip a few millimeters off (at an angle) and only notice it when you reach the other wall. Then everything is glued down, and it looks bad or no longer fits.

It works well with two people and is quite doable for craftily skilled amateurs. However, everything must be right in preparation: - correct and good tools (correct notched trowels, cleaner, straightedge, parquet iron, miter saw, enough spacers, mohair rollers for the oil, ...) - suitable screed substrate (screed laid at earth moisture can and may be quite wavy and must be leveled) - all materials (adhesive, possibly primer) from one system If you have to buy all the tools first AND can only work alone, it quickly becomes unprofitable. If you are not under time pressure and enjoy doing it yourself, it’s a fine thing. Careful work is definitely essential in any case. Otherwise, it really looks bad. I say this after 140sqm of glued bamboo planks. But I already had most of the tools beforehand, just the saw alone punched a solid hole in the budget with 400€-500 euros.

Just the names alone already scare me. I don't even have an idea of what this tool looks like or what it is used for... I think I'd better leave the gluing to someone else.

Scared of what exactly now? The tooth spatula only eats glue

Because I have never heard these names before (except cleaner and spacer wedges). For the rest, I have no idea what it looks like and what you do with it. You see, with the tooth spatula I thought it was some kind of plastic or metal part with teeth to spread and roughen the glue, like a kitchen scraper
