I would do many things the way you have already marked in red. Except: I would move the window in the living room further to the left and make it bigger - stop! Is the washing machine in the bathroom even though you have a basement? I wouldn’t do that. I think I would redesign the bathroom. Making the door bigger is clear. But the toilet directly straight ahead – does it have to be there? Just try shifting things around a bit, whatever is still possible. Does the staircase have a 23 cm tread width now, or am I mistaken? I wouldn’t go below 25. I would make the wall between the bedroom and child 2 thicker.

Yes, we need to calculate more precisely how much window front we actually need or what makes sense for the room size. I think I read somewhere that there is a rule of thumb for this, like x sqm of living space = x sqm of window area.

Yes, it is marked on the plan, but none will be placed there.

It was just a first idea. That's why the little mouse in front of it, I thought it would be clever in case someone is showering while someone else needs to use the toilet, then both places would at least be as far apart as possible. But yes, I still have to redesign the bathroom, there are better options especially with the bathtub and shower, which I would probably place more along the long side. A toilet on the opposite side probably makes more sense too, then it would be "above" the guest toilet on the ground floor.

Hmm, now I'm unsure... Do the missing feedbacks mean that it more or less fits already and there's not much left to optimize, or is it more of a "hopeless case"? We appreciate every comment/thought on the current floor plan. THANK YOU!

I had the bathroom done differently in .

Kitchen ... is the floor-to-ceiling window supposed to be on the left side of the plan? I find 280 cm almost too wide again, if it could possibly be a two-line kitchen. In that case, 250 cm would be sufficient. Even as drawn, there is a distance of 160 cm between the tall cabinet block on the left? (with fridge?) and the row.

I wouldn’t move the living room window further to the right either.

Podesttreppe (platform staircase) with only 23 cm tread depth ... try to find such a staircase and walk on it.

I would also split up the master bedroom more like in post 15. Headboard directly next to the door without any shelf .. no.

And in general, check the door widths upstairs and what space is really left behind the door. In the master bedroom, there should definitely be 70 cm behind the door to comfortably use the whole wall for a wardrobe.

Why does the bathroom on the ground floor need a shower?

How about an additional window on the couch side? That would bring even more light.

3.75m width of the living room I find just about sufficient, actually 4m or more is nicer. But you can certainly manage with it.

I consider the landing staircase to be a wrong decision. The slanted wall between the kitchen and living room also stretches the room (kitchen) to its disadvantage. For the kitchen, I would choose either one or the other in terms of width. I would segment the kitchen a bit with a door. I would actually pay attention to ensuring that the living room corner also serves as a retreat. Otherwise, constant presence can make you feel very uncomfortable in your own home. I would fully extend the shower on the ground floor and use the niche. Parents and child 1 swap (pay attention to the wardrobe, which must be swapped as well).
