Our construction is just beginning and we have already purchased the kitchen. Reason: I was able to tell the general contractor which measurements I need and not which ones he roughly plans in the kitchen. This way we were able to save unnecessary centimeters. We will have a boxed-in kitchen wall, so the measurements are important there as well to ensure the cabinets can be opened properly afterward.

Yes, we have already figured that out and planned with the Ikea planner so that what we imagine fits into our floor plan. But where we buy the kitchen is not yet decided. However, for the work planning, which is the week after next, we were asked for the kitchen planning and now we're getting a bit scared that we might do something wrong. We do know exactly where we want the appliances, but we have never had a kitchen island before and of course, we don't know if there's anything special to consider with the stove on it. What you can do: present your planning in the KI forum. You don't want to be restricted later because the connections (e.g. water) are already planned and can no longer be moved. That would be unfortunate if a more optimal plan is no longer possible because of it.

If it is a prefabricated house, the island should be advantageous because its connections come on the floor, and that is only installed after the prefabricated house is set up. So there is still time for that. :cool:

I admit, the kitchen was elaborate. But that's why we started already 1 year before completion and closed the ceiling. When I think about the chaos right at the end of the house completion… and then also planning the kitchen? No way. Looking back, I am very glad that we were able to present the plans of the [Küchenstudios] to the electrician and he could install everything very calmly.

I also got a first offer from Küchenhelden. The initial consultation was quite pleasant, but they are quite persistent with their follow-up questions. Call... if you don't pick up, they immediately send a text message and then also an email, I don’t like to be stressed out by that kind of thing.

Breakdown: 8500 cabinets, 7200 appliances, 2700 countertop, 3700 assembly (all net) --> 23.7 k gross
