The energy transition has long been mandated by the government and there are plans at higher levels for 2030, 2050, etc. - even if we proceed three times slower, it will still happen long before all extractable energy resources run out. So in the end, it's only about personal costs. And the €1.78 per device per year is worth it to me.

I also find this scaremongering terrible. If it gets 1.5 degrees warmer, the world will end, and if we don’t change everything immediately today, all the oil, gas, and coal in the world will be gone tomorrow. But turning off standby saves us all.

And please start with giving up meat and cars before you want to save the world by turning off standby...

Where is the router actually planned to be? Utility room or office? Is a power outlet already reserved for it?

If the two planned telephone sockets are to be used, then the router must be in the utility room. Today, a landline socket for VOIP is connected to the router and no longer to the main connection. When using DECT, you don’t need the sockets. If they are to be installed anyway, please use CAT cable and RJ45 socket and no 2x2 cable.

Don’t you have someone in your circle of acquaintances who knows about network cabling including telephone, with whom you can calmly review the planning?

Make sure that in the kitchen at least 2 sockets for ovens (even if only 1 is currently planned) and 1 socket for the dishwashers are separately protected. Additionally, the cooktop connection.

What do you expect from extra lighting and socket protection for each room?

It would be sensible to have sockets intended for decoration (e.g. in the windows) all run on one protection, which can then also be equipped with a timer switch. This way, the Christmas lights turn on and off centrally at the right time.

Do you want to hear a thank you now? Thank you!
Your efforts have culminated in the EU directive that mandates reducing standby power to a minimum. This is a very great success.
However, it would now be pointless to try to optimize the very last decimal place because it simply isn’t worth it. There are other areas where smaller changes lead to significantly higher savings.

When it comes to generation-bashing, I find it hard to keep my teeth clenched, but I’ll give you a little incentive: four classmates didn’t reach 20 or barely did. Three times liberal upbringing regarding drugs (you can try to guess the parents’ generation), once Afghanistan.
We simply identified other issues as important.
