Hi
at my sister's place with a wooden beam ceiling in an old building, there are already massive problems with reception one floor below. This is equivalent to having the router under the roof in a bungalow. At my place, it will be located in the utility room or the office, more likely the office, I think.
In all the tests I have read, reception is good on the same level, but often problematic between floors.

Now, if it doesn't become a concrete bunker and not too much steel is used... then it doesn't matter at all where you place the router; with 120 sqm, the reception quality should remain tolerable...

Since the commercially available routers have omnidirectional antennas, it also doesn't matter whether the device is on the same level or below/above...

I also consider the claim that electronics start to melt between 30° and 50° to be a myth... this is precisely the operating temperature of many devices...

... and what happens in case of a malfunction? Reporting over the phone what lights up and what doesn’t... no, practically unwise, since you have to check which LEDs are lit or not

well, it's not like climbing up the ladder is a big deal... although I also prefer to have something like that in the utility room...

Yeah, if something happens, then several times in a short period (1 hour?)
In the old house we often had outages – then you have to reset the box or turn it off, wait 2 minutes, turn it on again... check online what’s going on...
Anyway: what needs to be checked should also be at eye level. What’s wrong with the storage or utility room?

Since I have fairly close contact with various router manufacturers, I can only advise against operating those things in the attic. Temperature is really a big issue there. It is best to always hang the router on the wall in a cool room. With future routers, this problem will likely get worse rather than better, so don't even install such a one-way street in the first place.
