From experiences with several own single-family houses/bungalows, we have gone completely for a north terrace and thus also living room with the 4th and final house. This was also somewhat predetermined by the plot. Never again living room and terrace facing south or west! Look at such plots in the current heat. No one is on the terrace and everyone is in the darkroom.
That is a very nice piece of experience. Thank you!
Similar to a picture where you can hardly see anything except trees… which neighbor should you not disturb? Maybe just leave a few little trees standing so you don’t disturb him? … Could it be that you have already posted your site plan in another forum, but with a different question??? ;)
I have indeed already posted the site plan, but in the same forum regarding a different question. That is correct. But is that a problem? The other topic had nothing to do with this one.
So my concerns, to be a bit more concrete, are as follows. The plot has the mentioned northwest orientation (I call this the main garden). Regardless of that, I have imagined the house so that everything faces this direction (= large garden part). Kitchen, living room, main bedroom, terrace, etc. In this direction, there are also no immediate neighbors, and there is enough space. Since the house already takes up a lot of space in width, there would be only little space for the terrace on the left side of the house, plus the neighbors border directly there.
Now I was at the general contractor (GU) and to my surprise, he wanted to completely dismiss my idea right away and orient almost everything to the left (i.e. away from the main garden). Terrace, large balcony, living room, and so on.
When I think of my living idea, I do not like that at all. However, at the same time, I have no experience with the real impact of the cardinal directions and my situation in the main garden.
So the question arises for me, what consequences I have to expect if I stick to my plan.
