Correct. I'm curious whether there will ever be statistics on how many borrowers have deferred their payments. Basically, short-time work = unemployment benefits. Every employee should factor in this risk and be able to manage the rough times. Currently, many customers are being identified and data collected which will be worth gold in future assessments. Those who are deferring payments now have made a huge mistake in their financing.

It would be interesting to know how many are taking hours because it is possible now and the new TV is in the living room. My impression is that many have not yet realized that it is not over tomorrow. That it is not a 4-week vacation. That it will become very tight economically. People are still stoned if they even hint that the economy should slowly be considered.

That's true, but nobody says that either. I'd rather pay 1% instead of 2% interest. Or would you voluntarily add a bank bonus on top?

That's probably true. But you never catch the "right" moment. If you wait for the perfect interest rate, the property is gone or the BU eats up the saved interest with a higher price. When I go to buy something, I always say that I only negotiate the price once. Either a good and realistic offer right away or that's it. I've been doing well with that approach in construction and at the bank (on the seller's side) for over 20 years.

Well, interest rate wise, the timing is pretty bad right now compared to before the pandemic. Especially with the prospect that rates should fall again post-Corona. Then you tend to delay the financing as long as possible, right?
