Apartment for parents: 210 m² single-family house and 80 m² apartment

We are also building 210m² with a 65m² granny flat for my mother..... but I haven't seen such a (sorry for the statement) terrible plan here in a long time. I also drew our plan myself, and I too received opinions and some slaps in the face here. In the end, however, I took every single comment to heart, and in the end, a thoroughly beautiful and successful plan emerged, which was then highly praised and appreciated by the architect who finalized it. We are now looking forward to a large home for 5 people (maybe 6) with a wonderfully airy layout and plenty of space to live and feel comfortable for everyone.

By the way, we get more living space out of 65m² granny flat than you do out of your 80m²......

and a fundamentally messed up design does not transform into an award-winning masterpiece through one or two hints. Garbage in, garbage out.

The biggest challenge now is the path from the house to the storage room and garage.
The garage is now in the north and the living/dining area in the south.

No, seriously, I’ll start downstairs. If I understood correctly, the approximately 7m long and about 1.5m wide hallway thanks to cabinets runs with the door facing north? Daylight only through a side window on the west at the very end, opposite the heating system (why is it in the hallway?).

That’s a shame... sorry. Long, dark, technical stuff inside, you don’t get a welcome feeling as soon as you come in. And the apartments don’t have a separate, nice entrance area either.

Why does it have to be that long at all? Can't it at least be shortened? Then you’d have square meters that would be extremely beneficial to the granny flat, here the utility room is too small and the bathroom could also use a square meter more.
