No, why?
However, such a side entrance should be well planned. From 7 years of floor plan discussions here, I only know a few architect-designed houses where it has succeeded. 98 out of 100 times it is poorly executed and not well thought out (see parallel floor plan discussion from today/yesterday)
In my opinion, it always depends very much on the arrangement of the garage and the house. If I have the garage right next to the front door and a roof above, then I can also leave the garage and enter the front door directly. But if I first have to go around half the house and come through the rain, then such an entrance can make sense.
We also planned with an entrance from the garage into the utility room and I still think the idea is good. Otherwise, I would have to get out of the garage, walk across half the driveway in the rain, and then go through the front door. This way, I just get out of the car dry, walk through the utility room where I can possibly put groceries directly in the freezer chest, then into the hallway and to the wardrobe. Normally, I also come out of the car with relatively clean clothes and shoes. For all cases, there is a floor drain in the utility room and you can also wipe wetly sometimes.
