He practiced that in front of the mirror, trying not to blush

Sort of – I just mean you shouldn’t think in terms of "glass area per cubic meter of room." People underestimate how much of the daylight is reflected (and accordingly also the shadow effect of the "upper parapet height"). Try to perceive your ceiling as a reflector (and leave it at the bottom if you don’t raise the lintel height).

Ok, understood.

Regarding the additional costs, I can have a look at what happens. Maybe it won’t be that bad after all.
But the 800 EUR / roller shutter really knocked me off my feet.

What is the extra cost compared to - otherwise nothing in front of all windows at night?
I don't understand the point of a do-this-with-someone-else price here. A house without roller shutters on the ground floor is like a car without even a side mirror.

Yes, compared to nothing else.
Why this is standard, I don’t know, probably to then be able to charge an appropriate surcharge for the shutters that are demanded anyway. Why they then charge so much that you’re basically forced to the electronic blinds, I don’t know either.

So this was not removed by me and I definitely want shutters or, if affordable, venetian blinds (at least on the ground floor).

I think there is also a ratio of height to width that appears aesthetically pleasing. I wouldn't make such tall windows too narrow - you have to consider that the frame takes away from the actual surface area. In some cases, it might then give the impression of loopholes. But I don't see this as a problem either with the mentioned 1.60m or 2m width.
I have 2.20m high windows in a 2.70m high ground floor and it doesn't look silly

Otherwise, in my opinion, the surcharge should be manageable. My window manufacturer said that at 2.50m height, due to the weight of the glass, expensive custom-made pieces are required, but I assume you are probably not yet in that range here.
