Hello,

so EUR 1,000.00 is quite something...

I’m not entirely sure anymore, but I still have an additional charge of around EUR 300.00 per window for the motor and single switch in mind...

Regards,

Dirk

Phew.... €1,000 each is already a lot of money for roller shutters, even if they are electric!
Above all, I also find it strange that apparently all sizes cost the same extra.

Can't you get a comparison quote from an external company?

We installed our roller shutters ourselves, so I only know the material price for the roller shutters + motor.
The smallest (810x1035) cost around €300 gross, the largest (1805x2395) cost €470 gross, but even if labor costs are added, that's still far from €1,000!

So, I would definitely question his offer again.
Why do all the roller shutters cost the same? Are they some special roller shutters? Aluminum or plastic (if aluminum, that might explain the high price)?

P.S. I just checked again what our construction company wanted for the roller shutters back then if they had come from them.
The surcharge for 12 roller shutters including installation would have been €8,300, which is roughly €700 per roller shutter.
But that was too expensive for us.

Thank you very much for your answers. I just spoke with our carpenter/window maker on the phone. He says these are installation boxes that are delivered and installed in one complete piece with the window.

How did you solve that then? Lintel boxes, so that you are independent from the window? He says everything comes together, installation box, rails, roller shutter, motor. He only installs it and the electrician does the wiring.

What makes the most sense? Just the windows from him and then separately lintel boxes and roller shutters from the roller shutter manufacturer?

Ours were also firmly connected to the window. Unclear if that is how it is usually done; whether that is good or bad.
