My wife is currently receiving parental allowance until the beginning of next year, after which she would work part-time. I will also take two months of parental leave at the beginning of '24 and am considering working part-time afterwards as well in order not to exceed the income limit. On the one hand, there would be more time for the family, on the other hand, we could save money on childcare.
Do you see any problem here? If I interpret the info from the income point correctly, future income can be considered in the case of significant income changes.
I don’t think this should be a problem, but questions will probably arise.
Your wife’s parental allowance does not count as income. The salary before or after it is taken into account. Are you below the income limit with your current salaries (your full-time salary and her salary before parental leave)?
Our situation currently looks like this:
My husband is on parental leave until autumn of this year and then works part-time. From the middle of next year he will work full-time again. Due to this constellation, there were several inquiries and we had to provide proof of everything. It is still unclear which salary will be used for the income limit.
