I don’t think this should be a problem, but questions will probably arise.
Your wife’s parental allowance does not count as income. The salary before or after it is taken into account. Are you below the income limit with your current salaries (your full-time salary and her salary before parental leave)?
Our situation currently looks like this:
My husband is on parental leave until autumn of this year and then works part-time. From the middle of next year he will work full-time again. Due to this constellation, there were several inquiries and we had to provide proof of everything. It is still unclear which salary will be used for the income limit.

No. We still have one month of parental leave together at the beginning of 2024, after which we will both work part-time. According to an employee of WI Bank (as of today), this is not a problem.

So the salary limit is a real final boss. How is it with parental leave? There isn’t an exact guideline, right? Which salary is taken into account if my wife is on parental leave when applying for a loan? The parental allowance or the potential salary of a part-time job in 1-2 years??

For us, it was said that the parental allowance does not count at all. The salary before or after the parental leave is then used, depending on whether something changes significantly or not.

In the Hessian Housing Promotion Act relevant for the promotion, it states under §7 that only income changes expected within the next 12 months are decisive.

But well, since there is no legal entitlement to the promotion, the authority probably has a maximum discretionary scope.

Without considering parental leave, this will not work for us...

With us, it was back and forth with parental leave as well... at first, we were supposed to enter my wife's income as €0. Then, during the preliminary review, the caseworker changed her mind again, and we used the expected income after parental leave... When it was forwarded to the Wibank, they then wanted it confirmed again by the employer with the date and earnings.

However, for us, it didn't really make a difference, since we were below the income limit either way. But with the monthly burden, it naturally looks more relaxed.
