Hello, narrow kitchen, dark floor and even darker fronts - that would not be for me. What does the interior designer say about it? It would be even worse with tall cabinets / wall cabinets on the north wall. Open shelves are for cleaning fanatics. The cabinets hanging lonely on the wall would probably drive me crazy because I would constantly bump into them. What about 40 cm deep base cabinets on the south wall? The distance would be less than recommended, but it could be enough for slim people. You can simulate and try that with moving boxes or something like that. Maybe the countertop could be extended there into a fold-down table and seating could be mounted with fold-out seats. It's a spontaneous idea without having thought about it in detail. Is the Smegma fridge really 54 cm wide? Usually no extra space for hoses is needed behind the appliances.

Yes, I share your concerns about the dark fronts a bit, even though I have somewhat fallen in love with this black look. But I absolutely understand the logic that it makes the room smaller and am therefore hesitant, only this interior design person has also fallen for it and keeps trying to convince me. Basically, I am also a fan of totally bright, Scandinavian-style rooms.

Yes, everything with the wall cabinets is not correct yet, I just wanted to somehow suggest it in the simulator for now. So you also think that wall cabinets of any kind above the countertop would be dumb, right?

On the right wall, I also believe that something hanging high like that would drive me crazy. I don’t have any open shelves at all.

It may be that the Smeg is 60 wide.

Are you sure about the hoses? Where would a water hose to the washing machine be routed all the way to the right? The connection is where the sink is.

You are in the kitchen every day, it has to appeal to you. I only find wall cabinets above the countertop problematic in this room on the left side, because the window there goes all the way to the wall and then in the galley kitchen a narrowing impression would arise. It would be easier with connections on the other wall. The hoses are routed under the cabinets in the base.

It would already be good if the cabinets could really reach the wall. Then you would have gained at least 10 cm. The thing with the wall cabinets and the window was also my boyfriend’s argument, yes, that makes total sense to me too. Are there any other ideas on how to elegantly solve the obvious storage problem without covering everything up on the right?

If you don’t want a second row of base cabinets, and wall cabinets are not suitable either, then only a tall cabinet behind the door or immediately after remains. If 40 cm is too deep, it could be an arbitrarily assembled 20 cm deep Besta combination, like

wall cabinet with 2 doors, white, Lappviken pink

Since the ceiling is very high, I wonder if low (40 cm high) wall cabinets above the countertop would not make the space feel too cramped. Ask the interior designer.

The idea of the 40cm deep base cabinets for the right side is a good one from the Ikea expert, and on the left side, you can hang wall cabinets to the left of the extractor hood. That way, enough light still comes in.

ps. Sometimes there just isn't a "perfect" solution. You just have to make compromises. Stretchy rubber walls would be great
