You're absolutely right about that – clinker bricks only pay off if the house stands for a long time or if they are reused. There are already projects like that, but so far rather few and also more expensive due to the cleaning effort. Hopefully that will change someday...
Our two concrete ceilings could have also been made more climate-friendly out of wood – but the husband just didn’t want that.
No one is perfect in everything. Only everyone should contribute what they can, that would already be a big step.
And exactly that is what no one does. :-) I had to smile a bit. Right above you write that your husband didn’t want wooden ceilings. He probably could have managed it. It was a new build anyway. Not that I’m any better. In the end, everyone only does what lies within their own comfort zone. Real renunciation? I don’t really believe in that. If you don’t fly, you probably don’t have a need for long-distance travel, right? And you like your garden just the way it is :-)
