Especially since I still don't understand why you have to replace 30 square meters of flooring including skirting boards and all the trimmings just because of a stain.

The mods can do that ?

How long did you live in the apartment?
Isn't it the case that normal wear and tear is covered by the rent?
A discoloration on an area of 30 x 30 cm is surely no reason to have to renovate everything?

I agree, but in case of dispute one will probably have to consult the judge. Is there even an invoice for this effort or is it just a verbal statement? I find it quite telling that the property management is not pursuing the matter further ...

Apparently, the landlord also does not intend to have the damage repaired, as he has already found a new tenant. So the damage is not significant and does not constitute a defect or disadvantage for the landlord.

This should suffice for an argument in a procedure.

We lived there for 3 years and 2 months.

There is only one offer from a company that considers the complete replacement necessary, because otherwise you would see discolorations etc. between new and old. But then you would also have to replace everything in the hallway, utility room, bedroom, and children's room, because it is all one flooring. This is divided roughly every 2 meters, so I only assumed the replacement of this strip in extreme cases... that would then be about 10 sqm...1,200€ :30 * 10 = 400 euros..

Moreover, in my opinion, the complete replacement of the floor due to color differences etc. is anyway "nonsense," since this replacement never actually took place. So it was only necessary on paper.... the stain is still there.

Then just offer him 200€ depreciation and that's it.
