A trip to the lawyer is almost never worthwhile. You never have 100% certainty. If you are unlucky and lose, you always have to pay for it.

Sometimes it's just about the famous "principle". If I had assessed my chances poorly, I wouldn't have gone to the lawyer in the first place. But before the German judiciary, you are never safe.

You did everything right, don’t let yourself get driven crazy. The lawyer works for money, that’s fine. If he had thought the case was hopeless, he would have told you already. As far as I know, the case is relatively clear for you if it goes to court, so I wouldn’t worry about the lawyer’s fees, the stubborn landlord will pay them too. Keep us updated.
