and/or for the one-time perfect adjustment of the brightness of the spots. Dimension somewhat generously, adjust, done.

Yesterday we did our "lighting planning" or electrical planning in advance. We are still missing the following prices from our general contractor, or we would like to know from experience what the additional costs are here, so that we can possibly say goodbye to one or the other idea. - Dimming - additional cost? Does anything actually have to be wired differently here, or does it ultimately only require a different light switch that maybe costs 10€ more (sorry, I have no clue about electrical stuff) - LAN socket instead of antenna socket (same price or is there increased additional effort for some reason?) - Motion sensor INSIDE - this is the biggest issue at the moment, as we are planning 3 light points with motion sensors in our ground floor hallway, as well as 1 light point with a motion sensor in the basement. What exactly are the additional costs here? How expensive is something like that? Do additional sensors have to be installed here and how does the price compare to a normal light point, or are the connections significantly more expensive here? - Motion sensor OUTSIDE - same deal? - Socket with USB connection (10€ additional cost compared to a regular socket - is that correct?)

Often just swapping the switch is really enough. But you should know this beforehand, so the electrician doesn’t overcrowd the box. There might be limitations if you want to control the light from multiple locations. The lamps or bulbs must be suitable.

It’s more fiddly to connect everything inside the box. Especially if you want 2 LAN ports per socket. I would definitely choose that. Don’t save on the LAN wiring; with home office and TV over the internet it basically becomes more important. You also need well-positioned LAN ports somewhere for access points. 5GHz Wi-Fi really struggles to go through walls, ceilings, and underfloor heating.

or presence detector?

No, more like 40€ per socket or more. The original Gira or Busch-Jaeger sockets with USB are really expensive. Of course, there are much cheaper ones on Amazon, but they don’t necessarily fit your chosen frame design.

Thanks for the detailed info.

What is the difference between a presence detector and a motion detector?

Ultimately, I want to avoid having to operate a light switch when going down to the basement and back. The same applies for the hallway. What is the "right" solution in this case?

For me, a 50 EUR surcharge from "normal" Schuko to Schuko with USB. I would rather get it myself somewhere...

For the outdoor motion detectors, our electrician charges (net) €185 + manual automatic switch for motion detector condition: On/Off/Automatic €80

The socket with USB costs us an extra €65. We also asked about a socket with an orientation light, but an extra €95 was too much for us.
