As I said, we get: 4x Halox-P flush-mounted boxes at 65.00€ each (we told him: we want 4 spots in the bathroom :D) - honestly, we didn’t look into it in more detail. How do I imagine this now? Do I have to buy the spot itself separately here and also the light bulb? Can I then choose between quite different spots?

The 65€ applies to the ceiling spots in the bathroom, i.e., for the concrete ceiling. I don’t have a price for the wall yet... We just considered that now.

Yep - unless you buy through your general contractor, who might have a limited selection.

I don't want to be a killjoy here, but is it stated exactly like that in your contract?

Because you paid €65 for the sockets, but the rest is up in the air.
The rest means lighting fixtures, connection, cables, drilling.
Basically, the electrician can roll the dice and either you pay for it or you have expensive sockets in the ceiling that cannot be used. Afterwards, it is practically impossible to make the sockets usable.

Our dog gains security and independence in connection with a motion detector. Depending on the luminaire used, you get sufficient light in the shower area with both 4 and 2 recessed lights. What looks better on the ceiling? What kind of shadow casting would you (not) like when you shower? Look for luminaires with a wide beam characteristic and diffuser, high CRI, and rather warm color temperature; that is quite pleasant in this area. How much light you find comfortable—you have to find out yourself. When comparing, keep in mind that lumens are luminous flux and lux is illuminance (brightness). I think 60-70 lux arriving on the floor tile is a good initial guideline.

We definitely need to discuss this again in detail with our general contractor – also which spots can actually be installed. It certainly depends on the diameter of the flush-mounted box, right? Unfortunately, I have no clue about this topic yet... What is definitely included are: connections, cables, drilling, etc... I think in the end we have to take care of the spot itself and the light bulb. For my understanding: If I order 5 spots for €50 from a well-known online retailer – I only need the light bulb, correct? Are such spots any good, or is that just "junk"? I would like to know what else we will face after installing the boxes and wiring.
