The setup is completely unproblematic and goes quite quickly. Glad you found what you were looking for and I assume you will be satisfied :)

I'll join in here. Honestly, I don't want a smart home. Especially because I don't feel like dealing with it and have managed to turn on the light with the switch when entering a room for the past 46 years. I can definitely understand the fascination, but I see it more as a hobby – one I neither have time nor interest in. BUT: we are planning quite large windows on the south side, which in summer makes shading with blinds necessary, as otherwise the house will probably heat up a lot (KFW55 with controlled residential ventilation). Therefore, I am looking for a SIMPLE way to automate the shading for these windows – so if the sun is shining on them -> blinds go down. I saw at Bosch that this is possible via room temperature. In your opinion, is this a sensible approach or just a workaround, and are there simply easier/more reliable/cheaper solutions? If you need more information, please let me know briefly. Thanks in advance for your support!

Wherever the QR code is located. It is basically

Only using the room temperature is too little/too late. If it is already warm, then it's actually too late to shade. The heat is already inside.

You can use the room temperature as an additional factor but not as the main trigger. Solar intensity and outside temperature are more appropriate. In combination with the position and angle of the sun.

Unfortunately, there is (still?) no clean solution at Bosch.

Easier than, for example, with Bosch, there will hardly be any, but controlling it via room temperature is really not that sensible.

As a workaround, some people use the outside temperature measurement. In other words, they hang the Bosch sensor outside...

Otherwise, it works, for example, via the light sensor of the "Philips Hue motion sensor," which you place at the location in question and then use a scenario to execute the closing/opening of the blinds.

That was exactly my thought...

And what would an ideal setup look like then? Which components do I need for my really minimalistic requirements? :D
It’s only about the automated shading of 6 windows.

Thanks!

Well, it's right there. Temperature sensors inside/outside. Solar intensity outside from three directions East/South/West and then the software processing of the whole thing including calculation of the sun position. And what is also good is a time dependence and presence detection. How to get that done with the Bosch stuff, I have no idea. In my opinion, Bosch is more for getting a taste.
