Two venetian blinds or a fingerprint scanner - which would you choose?

You are free to take a key with you. We don't take any more. Everything works with a finger or chip card. Why? Comfort. No scratches on the door from locking up. You can't forget or lose your fingers, keys you can.

That doesn't mean there can't be an (off-grid) emergency operation or cases where the traditional key is more practical.

No one dies if they don't have a FP at the door Just a nice-to-have, not a must-have.

It is frosted glass. These are two fixed window elements next to the front door. So directly facing the street. I don’t want everyone passing by to be able to look into the house, but we also need sufficient light there.
Our property faces north.
Frosted glass is opaque, but of course it does not keep the heat out.

Thank you very much for the opinions. We have decided on the Venetian blinds. These will actually only be used when it makes sense in summer. Then I hope for a great added benefit.

For south-facing blinds. Every ray of sunshine that does not hit the glass on warm sunny days contributes to a tolerable temperature inside the house. Unless you live on a mountain ridge, wind sensors are not necessary for these dimensions.

The elements are right next to the front door? Hmm, it will of course be interesting to see on which level the blinds are supposed to run there. It's not like a window where they run on rails in the reveal. Hmm. I also overlooked above that these are opaque windows. The frosting lets through much less light anyway than most people expect beforehand (avowed satinato opponent!). Whether it's still worth it with the blinds there ... Hmm

We don't have any blinds, but we do have a fingerprint scanner that I wouldn't want to miss anymore. It's just very practical and a few times the scanner has already been very helpful, since our little children had locked me out of the house.

Well, it’s convenient and there’s no risk of locking yourself out by closing the door behind you. Children can use the fingerprint without the risk of losing the key.

Best regards
Sabine
