We have actually been doing fine with a smaller kitchen until now, but we want to have the possibility to drink coffee at the kitchen table in the morning and not have to walk into the living room.
You should always build up to date – that also includes the kitchen furnishings! At least, if you want to continue using used kitchen furniture, you should plan for fixtures to expand and adapt the standard. Or expand it right away through a carpenter. Here, there is clearly a lack of space/floor area. Anyone who uses the kitchen normally (cooking meals 4 times up to daily, sometimes baking a cake, coffee machine, kettle and toaster, fruit bowl, beverage bottles and oil within easy reach) will have problems here in the long run. Eventually, the children's building blocks will occupy part of the work surface.
