Left on the wall to the utility room hook for jackets? That’s going to get tight.
A typical everyday situation with us: Child puts on their school backpack in the morning. Mom (that’s me) goes to the door, unlocks it, gives my child a kiss. Sibling comes along, also desperately wants a kiss from the sister. Schoolchild turns around and bam - either mom or sibling ends up with the backpack in the face. Another situation: 4 people come home. The first has to hang their jacket on the first coat rack. Numbers 2, 3, and 4 stand behind and wait. You can’t close the door because number 4 can’t get into the house as long as number 1 is causing a traffic jam at the coat rack.
I don’t know if you are already parents. But from my experience, childless couples often underestimate the enormous space needed for children’s jackets, shoes, hats, scarves, and bags.
