Apparently, the knowledge has expanded over the 9 years: if there is no sidewalk, a walkable width on the street, which serves as a sidewalk, of (in our case) 1.50 meters must still be maintained.

Thank you for the answers. I actually find a corner plot quite attractive given the fairly dense development and the tall houses, for the reasons you mentioned in 2015.

I just looked at the garbage collection schedule in the neighborhood. Residual waste every two weeks, organic waste every two weeks. There would be 4 bins on the 30sqm plot. The question is whether they are left there and how much it actually bothers at the corner.

What would be your favored plots given the information available? As mentioned, to the east fairly close is the quite busy exit road of the town, a supermarket opposite.

I can’t imagine that they will be left there. We still have waste paper here... It could well be that the noise from the wheels is annoying. But if you plan for everything, then you could plan some kind of privacy screen there. A supermarket? You didn’t mention that... You know, maybe you’ve seen the numerous posts from me regarding plot selection, where I mention that you can create beautiful gardens with a nice house on almost any plot. By the way, my best house designs are the ones with the entrance facing south. But for reasons of the dense development (two-storey houses) I often prefer the gable roof house because then you don’t feel so overwhelmed on your own property. Then just show the town entrance with the supermarket. And say what you want to build. To be honest, we took the second to last plot (11 years ago) because I didn’t see or see any problem with anything. I can get enthused by Pinterest pictures, but I can manage with almost any existing situation and get the best out of it for myself. Somehow, I can’t think in terms of best/worse/not wanting. I don’t like rear plots for myself, so 2 is out. 5, 10, and 12 (etc.) are out for me due to lack of south/west light in the living area. Are the restrictions for yellow really that important if you don’t want a well? Why is lilac with 6.5 detached houses excluded?

Hello, I would prefer number 15. First of all because of the privacy. Because it is protected from three sides, located on the quieter street, the garden around it could still be planted with a privacy hedge if allowed or with privacy fences.

Then little sidewalk to sweep and clear. Cars drive past the house, you don’t have the opposite driveway, where people also like to turn, reverse trailers into the driveway or maybe park blocking you, so you might not be able to get out of your own driveway well anymore.

I was out because of the trash bin place anyway. It’s not a problem if the bins are put out in the evening, emptied in the morning and taken back in during the day. But I find it somehow annoying, even if it’s behind the garage. But you will always have people who don’t look at the calendar, the diapers smell quite nice or they leave bins standing for days. Like with us.

I don’t want to live on the foot and bike paths. First, constantly strangers, cyclists tend to shout while riding their bikes. Second: many people leave their dog poop lying around here, although there are trash bins everywhere. And if you’re unlucky, it’s right opposite your garden and stinks horribly, because the bags are not odor-proof. And if such a property, then I would first be interested in how high a privacy screen could be and what material or which plants it can consist of. But you don’t get rid of the smell with that, just as little as with the trash bin place.

I would have said 9 at first, too, but the garbage bin area would stop me there. It’s not just the emptying; people also throw their trash there at any time of day (and night). For me, therefore, property 2 would be the first choice. A reasonably large plot, a nice southwest garden, no street to sweep (the driveway only has to work for you, you can also leave the snow there). After that, 19 and 20 would come next for me. There, too, you can create a nice garden in the southwest.

19 and 20 would probably also be my favorites: side southern sun into the windows, the shallower west sun then into the main garden.
