I also don’t consider 5,400 euros a "healthy middle ground." Maybe the description "(very) healthy income for a homeowner" fits better. And you’re only 29, so you should know what it’s like to live with less. I still remember well the time when I had to get by on Bafög if I hadn’t earned a few euros on the side. From that perspective, I find your last sentence quite tone-deaf.

PS: From my experience, the product of the number and size of TVs in the household is inversely proportional to the household net income. We have one 37" Sony Bravia from 2006. Surely Steffen will prove us wrong by showing off his TV soon, but exceptions prove the rule.

You can repeat this 10 times... anyone here below your income doesn't understand and thinks that you are well above average. Statistically that may be true... but certainly not for home builders. Of course, with your income (which is very good, no question) you can't make big leaps. Surely you can finance a nice single-family house and go on a nice vacation every year. But that's probably it. Especially with two children. You probably don't drive a 100k car and probably don't go to the Maldives twice a year? With >5000 EUR net you can live very well... as a single-family house owner (without inheritance!) that is certainly average.

Regards, Steffen

PS: TVs are thrown around these days... the average unemployed person already watches with more than 38 inches ;p

I am definitely very video and audio -affine. But that is really nothing I have to earn mega money for

Health is indeed the greatest happiness of all. Whoever does not understand that is certainly much poorer than average (no matter what is in the account)

No one in this forum is obliged to post their house, floor plan, photos, or cars. I'm slowly getting tired of the constant bullying in one direction. Regards
