Roller shutters or blinds on the ground floor

It's quite simple: If you want shading, light, and the ability to look outside, choose venetian blinds. Otherwise, roller shutters. Both systems are mature and practical. We have neither.

Addition: If you want shading, light, the ability to look outside, and no appearance that looks like you're looking out of a prison cell (that was our reason against venetian blinds, the look from the inside isn't really nice either, it's enough for me to have to see that in the office all the time): Build a nice canopy with an under-running awning in front of the most important window front... -> No direct sun, free view outside, light, unproblematic in wind (OK, it shouldn't withstand the worst storms)…

I have a question about the roller shutters.

We have completely installed roller shutters on the upper floor. However, when closing, they do not go all the way down to the windowsill but stop beforehand due to the angle in the guide rails. These are positioned above the windowsill.

So it doesn't really get dark. It doesn't bother me much, but our kids who would like it... completely dark when sleeping.

Does this serve any purpose or could the limits be unscrewed and the roller shutters go all the way down?

It doesn't make sense to me at first. You can send a photo. But without guarantee, it sounds like your dealer cut the guide rails too short and therefore installed the stoppers. If the roller shutter wouldn't stop there, the individual slats would come out of the guide. Normally, a roller shutter goes all the way down.
