But you will surely agree with me that a blind in terms of function, the possibilities of adjustability, and the view from the inside cannot be compared to a roller blind. Because with the roller blind there is only dark or light. Sure, I can also lower the roller blind halfway, but I always look against a dark plastic wall. So apart from the price, the advantage of a roller blind has not become clear to me. I would never install roller blinds in a modern house with modern, floor-to-ceiling windows and large surfaces. And just like a manual strap, a roller blind is, for me, a relic of the past...

Sorry, but that statement is just as narrow-minded as claiming that roller shutters generally come from the Middle Ages and no longer have any justification for existence.

There is a difference between "having to count every cent twice" and making decisions about which price premiums make sense for oneself on which items and whether there is any added value for oneself at all.
I may also have money for an AMG, but I don’t want to drive that fast anyway and it is generally way too loud for me, so I prefer a normal E-Class and invest the money in other areas, e.g. in the house.

The thing with the Middle Ages was of course an exaggerated statement. Hence the smiley. Roller blinds clearly have their justification. I myself use some in certain rooms.

My arguments were also related to the original question of the TS, who wants to equip the floor-to-ceiling windows on the ground floor (patio exit) with roller blinds. Of course, everyone can do as they please, but I probably won’t understand it...

And according to the initial post, it clearly comes down to money here.
