Just imagine it completely without anything. We also have a full southern exposure and have never pulled down the blinds in our rental apartment! When it gets over 30°C in the attic apartment, all the windows are simply opened at night.

Facade slats have a massive impact on the design of the house. The whole house has to match.

Neighbors have shutters, in a modern version. Not suitable. You can only control vertically how closed the window is. Visually great and fit really well, practically no.

I don't see it that way. Shutters are very practical. You can close them, it stays very cool and still bright. In the evening, cool air comes through and nobody sees that the windows are open. Also, they are very quick to close and open again.

I have had roller blinds, venetian blinds, and shutters. I have to say I like the latter best. Only they are not smart home capable and difficult to arrange on the windows.

Venetian blinds are good too, you can look outside when closed.

Are smart home compatible

I wouldn't turn it off. There is nothing more beautiful for me than a cool apartment at outside temperatures around 30°C.

Only smart home capable they are not

You probably mean the kids' party that is advertised as smart home in the media, can't operate something as simple as shutters because there is no additional box for it. In the real smart home world, of course, you can also automate the shutters.
