A shading directly at the window will never be a visual highlight. Just like a range hood. It is simply a means to an end, and the blinds are the lesser evil and, in my opinion, bring huge advantages compared to roller shutters.
An eave also has the disadvantage that the sun's angle of incidence is reduced, so less daylight comes through the window. Many overlook this problem when retrofitting insulation on the facade --> the window reveal is enlarged, less light comes into the room.
It’s like everywhere in house construction: You get what you pay for
I always say... For me, the best possible solution is a nice large patio roof in front of the largest window front with an under-running awning (alternatively a louvered roof)... Completely flexible, no ugly slats in the field of view, complete shading of the windows possible with a completely free glass area. Of course, it also costs accordingly.
Venetian blinds are completely unnecessary in this case, as there is no additional benefit. Of course, this only works if the window front is arranged accordingly at the terrace and only for the ground floor window front.
