That was fiddly. Then these "Bimssteine" (wood block bricks made from concrete pellets) which are not so great for anchors and there's always something in the way where you want to fix the elements (like a sewage pipe).

I had already forgotten the insulation strip when pouring the screed, with the 1 cm leveling compound it didn't matter either. But before that, there was nothing of the sort. Soundproofing at that spot would only affect the squirrels, it's the exterior wall...

Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with squirrels. Impact noise or anything else you couple into the wall can be heard, to put it bluntly, in every room.

I don’t know why, but my children just jump around uncontrollably. Soundproofing has become a very important issue for me in hindsight during the renovation. Hard shoes, tools, or sewing machine... there are many potential sound sources.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well anyway :)

Well, I can scrub the calluses off my feet with a pumice stone. When it comes to exterior walls, you have to be careful with chiseling work and the like, because these hollow blocks according to DIN18151 are very crumbly if worked on too forcefully.

Further in the room above the WC.

Cable down to the attic

Install a distribution board there:

Now insulation between the rafters and vapor barrier

Then drywall

Oh yes, tiles and plaster also have to come off. Now I have to get rid of two BigBags of bitumen-containing construction debris again.

The neatly sorted and unproblematic construction debris could be disposed of.

Continuing with filling the walls where water and sewage pipes had previously been laid.

Chasing and laying the new electrical wiring.

After unevenness in the screed had been corrected, a layer of leveling compound was applied to the floor.

Then the first wall could be plastered.
